In 2019 I had the opportunity to sail on Azamara Cruises to South America. What I love about Azamara is they do country-intensive cruises, so you really get a deep dive into a country and have the convenience of your boutique hotel traveling with you. No unpacking. They often stay overnight in ports or have late nights, so there is more opportunity to explore and discover. During the course of the cruise, they have one Azamazing evening, usually in a historical location with local entertainment. On our cruise, we were overnighting in Montevideo, Uruguay. Our evening was at the Opera House, where we saw a three-act musical performance on the origins of Carnivale. It was magical!

Another evening is a white night party on the deck with endless food, drink, and music. This special evening for us was while watching the fireworks from Copacabana Beach, Rio de Janeiro. I still get goosebumps thinking about how special this was.
